The Bentley Torcal is the most important Bentley in years: the brand’s first fully electric car, its fourth model line and, with up to 888 PS, its most powerful production model yet. It also carries a name with a beautiful twist, borrowed from El Torcal de Antequera in Málaga. Here is everything you need to know about power, range, design, price and deliveries.

Bentley has finally gone electric. On 23 September, the British marque unveiled the Torcal in London: a fully electric luxury SUV with up to 888 PS, 600 km of range and a cabin that is pure Crewe craftsmanship. It is the brand’s fourth model line, alongside the Bentayga, Flying Spur and Continental GT, and its most important launch in years.
The Bentley Torcal has a tough brief: convince loyal clients that an electric car can still feel like a Bentley, while attracting a new, younger generation to the brand. To do it, Bentley has combined serious performance with a cabin full of traditional craftsmanship and, for the first time, a starting price below the Bentayga.
Bentley Chairman and CEO Dr Frank-Steffen Walliser did not undersell it, describing the Torcal as setting extraordinary benchmarks and calling it perhaps the most considered car in the company’s history.
🏔️ Why “Torcal”? A Bentley Named After Málaga
Bentley has a habit of naming its cars after extraordinary landscapes. The Bentayga takes its name from Roque Bentayga in Gran Canaria, while the Bacalar and Batur were named after a lagoon in Mexico and a volcano in Bali. The Torcal continues the tradition, this time in southern Spain.
El Torcal de Antequera is a natural park in the north of Málaga province, famous for its surreal limestone formations: stacked rocks, cliffs and labyrinths sculpted over millions of years. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Antequera Dolmens Site, and one of the most spectacular landscapes in southern Spain.
There is also a clever double meaning. “Torcal” shares its roots with the Latin torquere, “to twist”, which is also the origin of the word torque. For an electric car whose defining quality is instant, effortless pull, it is hard to imagine a better name.

⚡ Performance: The Most Powerful Bentley Ever
The Torcal launches in two versions, both with twin electric motors and all-wheel drive. The Torcal S, with 888 PS, is the most powerful production Bentley yet.
| Torcal | Torcal S | |
|---|---|---|
| Power | 821 PS | 888 PS |
| Torque | 1,194 Nm | 1,350 Nm |
| 0–100 km/h | 3.4 s | 2.9 s |
| Top speed | 250 km/h | 260 km/h |
| Battery | 113 kWh net, 800-volt architecture | |
| Range (WLTP) | Up to 600 km | |
| Fast charging | 400 kW; 10–80% in under 20 minutes | |
| Length | 4.98 m | |
In real-world terms, a 600 km range puts long motorway journeys within reach of a single charge, and most weekly driving will barely dent the battery. Bentley says a seven-minute stop on a fast charger adds around 160 km (100 miles). Four drive modes, Comfort, Bentley, Sport and a new Fresh mode, are selected with a rotary dial.
Underneath, the Torcal uses the Volkswagen Group’s PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture, shared with the Porsche Cayenne Electric. Bentley has developed the design, tuning and cabin itself, and the car is designed, engineered and built in Crewe, England, backed by a £350 million investment in the factory.
🛋️ Inside: Merino, Walnut and 28 Speakers
Bentley’s challenge was to make an electric car feel unmistakably like a Bentley. Inside, the answer is a blend of new technology and old-school craft:
- Curved OLED display as the centrepiece of the dashboard, with a digital instrument cluster and head-up display.
- Physical controls for climate, volume and drive modes, a welcome decision in an era of touchscreens.
- Merino wool and walnut among the launch materials, with Mulliner available for full personalisation.
- Naim audio with 28 speakers, 1,780 watts and Dolby Atmos.
- Space: five seats (four-seat layouts possible), a 460-litre boot and 90 litres under the bonnet.
- Sound: a bespoke driving sound inspired by Bentley’s V8, because silence is not always golden.
💶 Price and Deliveries
In Spain, the Torcal starts from €240,000. In the UK it is priced from £173,300, which makes it the most accessible model in Bentley’s current range, positioned below the Bentayga in both size and price. The strategy is clear: attract a new, younger generation of Bentley buyers without losing the brand’s loyal clientele.
Production starts in the coming months at Crewe, with the first customer deliveries expected in the second half of 2027. As always with Bentley, the final price will depend heavily on specification, and Mulliner personalisation can take it considerably higher.
🏁 Bentley Goes Electric While Rivals Hesitate
The Torcal arrives at an interesting moment. Several luxury carmakers have slowed or rethought their electric plans, citing softer demand. Bentley has gone the other way, committing to an electric model while keeping its combustion and hybrid cars in the range.
It is not alone at the very top. Ferrari’s first electric car, the Luce, was unveiled in May from around €550,000 and its 2026 allocation sold out, while Rolls-Royce’s electric Project Nightingale coachbuild, limited to around 100 cars, is also spoken for. The Torcal, however, plays a different game: at €240,000 it is the most accessible way into a new Bentley, designed to be driven every day rather than kept in a collection.
🧾 Thinking of Ordering One? A Quick Checklist
- Register early. Bentley Torcal deliveries start in the second half of 2027, and first allocations tend to go to the dealer’s existing clients.
- Choose your version. Torcal or Torcal S, five or four seats.
- Plan your charging. A home wallbox is the most convenient option.
- Ask about Mulliner. Personalisation adds cost and time but makes the car truly yours.
- Book a visit to a Bentley dealer to see materials and colours in person.
