Estepona offers a good variety of shopping options, especially around Calle Real and Calle Terraza in the town centre, where you can find boutiques, bakeries, delicatessens, souvenir shops and everyday services.

The town also has popular local markets, including the marina market on Sunday mornings and the weekly town market, known locally as the Mercadillo. Along the New Golden Mile and eastern side of Estepona, several shopping centres provide convenient access to restaurants, services, supermarkets and professional facilities.

Most of the shopping in Estepona is centred around Calle Real and Calle Terraza, where there is a broad selection of boutiques, souvenir shops, delicatessens, stationers and bakeries.

The Archaeological Museum, located in the former Old Town Hall in Estepona’s historic centre, showcases important artefacts that help trace the town’s past. It houses more than 400 objects from various historical periods, including pieces dating back to the Palaeolithic era, with some items estimated to be around 100,000 years old.

Four museums are situated within the bullring complex, which itself can be visited and was constructed in 1972 with a distinctive asymmetrical layout. The Image and Sound Museum, established in 2004 as part of Estepona’s film festival, pays tribute to Spanish filmmaker Luis García Berlanga and displays vintage cameras and memorabilia from Spain’s film and music history. The Ethnographic Museum, formerly known as the Museum of Agricultural and Fishing Tools, features approximately 2,000 items illustrating traditional life in Estepona. The Estepona Palaeontology Museum contains one of the region’s most significant fossil collections, with more than 2,000 fossils representing around 600 species of plants and animals. The Antonio Ordóñez Bullfighting Museum, named after the renowned bullfighter from Ronda, exhibits posters, photographs, outfits, equipment and bull heads.

The Punta Doncella lighthouse rises 21 metres above the coast and was built in 1861, marking the end of the seaside promenade.

The remains of the Moorish San Luis Castle, originally erected to defend the town against Berber pirate attacks from North Africa, can still be seen.

The Felipe VI Theatre-Auditorium, inaugurated in March 2015, covers a total built area of 5,500 square metres and is the largest performance venue on the Costa del Sol. It hosts high-quality theatre productions, concerts, conferences, conventions and exhibitions. The main auditorium seats 600 people and features a 225 m² stage equipped with simultaneous translation facilities for international events.

The Estepona Orchidarium, with its three glass domes, is arranged over three levels and covers 1,000 square metres, enclosing a volume of 15,000 cubic metres. Located within Estepona town, Queens British Grammar School offers education from early years and primary levels through to Secondary (IGCSE) and A-Levels, delivering a high standard British curriculum throughout all stages.

One of the key historical landmarks is the archaeological site known as Villa Romana de las Torres in Guadalmansa. First uncovered during excavations in 1915–1916, later work in 1929 revealed the remains of a Roman villa and a fish-salting factory dating from the late 2nd to early 3rd century AD. Further investigations in 1990 confirmed that the site was later reused as a necropolis.

Along the coastline stand a series of historic watchtowers, constructed between the 14th and 15th centuries as part of a defensive network designed to protect southern Spain from Berber pirate attacks. This coastal surveillance system remained in use until the 19th century and originally included seven towers within Estepona’s municipality: Arroyo Vaquero, Sala Vieja, Padrón, Velerín, Guadalmansa, Saladillo and Casasola (also known as Baños).

Many streets, plazas and avenues throughout Estepona feature public sculptures and large-scale murals—31 in total—including the largest mural in Spain painted on a residential building.
